Rebuilt S.U HIF44 / HIF38 Carburettor
Rebuillt S.U HIF 44 or 38 carburettor.
Carb's are stripped, cleaned and completely rebuilt with genuine S.U parts, including spindle, spindle bushes, choke and throttle seals, new main jet, float valve, seat and gauze, as well as all gaskets and o-rings.
The carb will be set to manufacturers settings, so should only require minimal basic tuning to your vehicle.
Options, and how it works...
1. Carb Rebuild.
Send your carburettor to me, i will strip and thouroughly clean and refurbish it, rebuild it, then return to you to fit to your car.
The cheapest option, but please allow up to two weeks turnaround. Ideal if time is not an issue or the vehicle is off the road or undergoing other work.
2. Basic Exchange:
Rebuilt carb will be dispatched immediately upon my receipt of your old unit. Your existing needle will be used. The best option for time/outlay balance.
3. Exchange with surcharge:
Buying the unit outright for immediate dispatch, and then the difference will be refunded upon my receipt of your old unit. Supplied without needle to fit with your existing, or self-supplied item. The quickest exchange option.
4. Outright Purchase:
**When stock is permits** A standard rebuilt carb will be dispatched with no need to return an exchange part. Supplied without needle to fit with your existing or self-supplied item.

For options 1 & 2, you will be advised if the needle is badly worn and replacement is recommended.
Carb builds can be tailored to your requirements at extra cost, for example trimming down the throttle spindle and fitting countersunk screws to remove as much obstruction to airflow as possible as-per Vizard's A-series 'bible,' as well as advise, supply and fitment of different needle profiles as a starting point to match fuelling to your engine's spec.
